There is a restaurant in my town that serves Burmese cuisine. Their decor is a beautiful mix of slate, deep burgundy, mustard, and gold. A combination I never would have derived on my own, this collection of items is inspired by the color palette of their decor.

From left, clockwise: J. Crew Petite Back-Zip Pant in Bonded Crepe, $89.99, limited sizes available; Ann Taylor Silk Shoulder Pleat Shell, $79.50; Anthropologie Rivage Cuff by Gas Bijoux, $288; J. Crew Georgie Suede Penny Loafers, $165, available in half sizes 5-12; Etsy Straw Yellow Men's Scarf, $16. |
Their most popular dish is the fermented tea leaf salad. Apparently, this is not unusual for Burmese restaurants. The NY Times has a promising-looking recipe. You can also buy a DIY salad kit on Amazon and from Good Eggs.
Have you ever been inspired by an unexpected color palette?
